Matt Barrie is chief executive and chairman of Freelancer Limited, the freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplace he founded in 2009, and chief executive of Escrow.com, which has secured more than US$4 billion in online payments. He holds first-class honours in electrical engineering and science plus two masters degrees, including one from Stanford, and was an adjunct associate professor at the University of Sydney for 15 years. Barrie previously founded network-security firm Sensory Networks, which Intel acquired in 2013. He was named BRW's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2011 and Smart Company's most influential person in Australian technology in 2014.
