Katharine Giles

Katharine Giles is a medical doctor and venture partner at Brandon Capital, the Australian life sciences venture capital firm she joined in 2012. She is also managing director and chief executive of OncoRes Medical, the Perth medtech company that grew out of her investment work, which combines optical coherence tomography with elastography to give surgeons real-time imaging during breast cancer operations so all the cancer is removed the first time. She sits on the board of Sonic Healthcare and co-founded Spark Co-Lab, a not-for-profit education provider. She holds a medical degree with honours and an MBA, both from the University of Western Australia, and discussed the case for life sciences investing on Investment Thesis with Kali Norman.
