About
I'm the Director of Engineering at Relevance AI, where I lead and oversee the engineering team's work building a platform for the AI Workforce. We're hiring rapidly, so reach out if you're interested in joining a fun, supportive, and growing team working in a fast moving space with big opportunities ahead of it!
Previously, I was a Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead/Manager at Google Sydney. I led and managed 20 people and multiple teams working on the ChromeOS Apps Platform. I was a senior eng lead for the wider Chrome OS team, regularly consulted on projects across the org, and drove the long term app strategy for the platform.
I helped bring Progressive Web Apps into existence, deprecate Adobe Flash Player on the web, and drove advancements for apps on ChromeOS. I worked on usable security and permissions on Chrome, defined usable permission principles for the web platform, and guided and reviewed security work within the org.
I care a lot about diversity, equity, and inclusion, and believe it's everyone's responsibility to change the experience of underrepresented groups in the industry for the better. We all have a part to play to make this industry welcoming, supportive, and open for everyone to join and succeed.
I completed a Bachelor of Information Technology with Honours Class I and the University Medal in 2010 at the University of Sydney. I attended UC Berkeley in 2012-2013 on a Fulbright Postgraduate Scholarship, and completed a PhD in AI (computational linguistics) in 2015 at the University of Sydney. I published several peer-reviewed publications and have presented at Google I/O, academic settings, and in tech talks across a wide range of topics.
