Alex Khor is a co-founder of AfterWork Ventures, an early-stage venture firm backing Australian and New Zealand startups. He began his career as a research mathematician before cutting his teeth at McKinsey & Company, where he realised early that selling time only takes you so far and that lasting wealth comes through ownership.
With his long-time business partner Adrian Peterson, Alex started writing angel cheques into early-stage Australian and New Zealand tech companies around 2017, before co-founding AfterWork. He is known for a disciplined, expected-value approach to venture investing — pricing risk rather than chasing hype, and weighting founder quality above almost everything else.
