TCA's mission is to shape Australia's digital future by advocating for policies that foster growth, investment, and job creation within the tech industry. The organisation collaborates with government bodies, businesses, and the wider community to support the development and adoption of technology nationwide.

Kate Jones

Executive Director

Kate Jones is a prominent figure in the technology and sports sectors, currently serving as the Executive Director of the Tech Council of Australia. With a rich background in government and leadership roles, she has significantly influenced the tech landscape and sporting industries. Kate is also an Independent Director on the Paralympics Australia board and a Strategic Advisor at the Australian tech company Soda.Her career in public service includes serving as a Minister in the Queensland Government, where she managed portfolios such as State Development, Education, Innovation, Tourism, and Major Events. She was instrumental in implementing key policy reforms, including the Advance Queensland innovation agenda and Queensland's inaugural climate change strategy. Kate's leadership was pivotal in the success of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 2018 and securing the 2032 Olympic Games for Queensland.Kate holds a Bachelor of Journalism from QUT and a Masters of Environmental Law from The Australian National University. Her multifaceted roles continue to impact technology, sports, and beyond, showcasing her commitment to innovation and community development.
