About Thomas Kelly
Dr Thomas Kelly is co-founder and CEO of Heidi Health, which makes an AI medical scribe and clinical documentation platform that turns consultations into notes and letters. He trained and worked as a surgeon, and started Heidi in 2021 with Waleed Mussa, a colleague from an earlier startup, to cut the administrative work he saw weighing on doctors.
In September 2026 Heidi raised US$340 million: a US$100 million Series C led by Blackbird at a US$900 million valuation, and a US$240 million growth investment led by General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund. Heidi reports use in 190 countries and 110 languages, and is expanding into AI agents for clinicians.
