About Janet Salem
Janet Salem is co-founder of FootprintLab, a company that puts environmental data into financial decision-making. With co-founder Dr Tim Barnes, she licenses environmental data from IELab as emission and impact factors that businesses outside government and academia can use, with the longer-term aim of building environmental costs into the financial systems where decisions are made.
Before FootprintLab, Salem led sustainability programs at United Nations agencies including the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), UNESCAP, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and UNIDO, where she used IELab data in her work.
