Peter Devine is the Chief Executive Officer at Uniseed, a venture fund operating at nine leading Australian universities and the CSIRO. With extensive experience in the commercialization of early-stage technologies, Peter has held senior R&D, business development, and commercialization positions in both Australian companies and universities. He has served on the boards of numerous start-ups that have collectively raised over AU$300 million, with several achieving deals worth over AU$2 billion. Notable successes include the sales of Fibrotech Therapeutics to Shire and Spinifex Pharmaceuticals to Novartis.Before joining Uniseed, Peter worked at four Australian biotechnology companies, including as Vice President of Business Development at Progen Industries Ltd and as Research, Development, and Commercialisation Manager at PanBio Pty Ltd. He also worked in tech transfer at UniQuest. Peter holds a PhD from the University of Queensland and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, where he received the Dean's Prize and the AGSM Alumni Scholarship. He was awarded the Centenary Medal in 2001 for his contributions to biotechnology and was named in the GUV Powerlist in 2018 as one of the top five people worldwide changing university venturing. He is a Graduate and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Diploma of Financial Services and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance.
