Yolanda Surjan
Founder at Creatures & Co
Yolanda Surjan is an academic in radiation therapy at the University of Newcastle and founder of Creatures & Co (formerly RadVet), which adapts human radiation therapy protocols to treat skin cancers in horses, cats and dogs. Her method, developed from her PhD research, is billed as an Australian first for treating veterinary skin cancer on-site in a clinic. Surjan has received more than $480,000 in grants and funding as a university researcher and was named a CSIRO Breakout Female Scientist in 2017. She discussed how social enterprises fit within the startup community on Welcome to Day One with Adam Spencer.
