About Bill Tai
Bill Tai is co-founder of ACTAI Ventures, an early-stage venture firm he started with Amanda Terry that invests at pre-seed and seed alongside a global community of founders. He also chairs ACTAI Global, a non-profit supporting conservation and entrepreneurship.
Tai has invested in start-ups since 1991. He was the first investor to commit to Zoom and a lead seed investor in Canva, SafetyCulture and Dapper Labs, and 22 companies he backed early have listed publicly. Trained as an electrical engineer, he worked at LSI Logic and in TSMC's earliest days, ran the semiconductor practice at Alex. Brown & Sons and was founding chief executive of iAsiaWorks. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
