About Ariella Heffernan-Marks
Dr Ariella Heffernan-Marks is the founder and CEO of Ovum, an Australian women's health app that brings symptoms, cycles, medications, test results and wearable data into one record women can share with their doctors.
She holds a Doctor of Medicine from Macquarie University, worked clinically at Prince of Wales Hospital and is completing a PhD in femtech and AI. Ovum launched in August 2025 and has run clinical trials with the Royal Hospital for Women and St George Hospital. The company raised a $1.7 million pre-seed round in 2025 and a $4 million seed round in June 2026 led by Admiralty Capital Group. She was named Best New Founder at the Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards 2026.
On The New Script, she explained how Ovum uses data to shorten the time it takes women to be diagnosed.
