Diffuse Energy is an Australian company that developed a small wind turbine, under one metre across with its blades enclosed in a diffuser, to power off-grid sites such as remote telecommunications towers and reduce their use of diesel. Its turbines powered communications for NSW Police and emergency services during the 2019–20 bushfires. Joss Kesby, Sam Evans and James Bradley co-founded it from Kesby's PhD research at the University of Newcastle.
